Installed all of the David Saunders Stained Glass windows on the lower level of Saint John’s Cathedral. Installed 22 glass protectors on the western façade of Saint John’s Cathedral. Installed millennium window at Saint John’s Cathedral. Removed, restored and refitted a total of 76 stained glass panels on the eastern wall of the Cathedral and fitted 39 glass protectors to cover all the stained glass panels on the eastern wall. | St Joseph’s Catholic Cathedral – RockhamptonBrisbane Leadlight Service was presented with a Certificate of Excellence for this project Installation of Protective Glazing to the whole of the Cathedral which required close consultation with other key staff involved with the Restoration Project such as the Project Manager and the Stone Masons. Various complex templates / measurements were taken to accommodate the different window shapes and sizes. Every protector contours stone work. Protectors which were secured on the North and South elevation were all hinged, hence they can be opened to clean the stained glass panels if needed. No Polycarbonate sheets were used on this project only Grade A safety glass. |

St Paul’s Anglican Cathedral – RockhamptonRemoval and restoration of 9 William Bustard Stained Glass panels. Part of the requirement was to treat 5 of the steel casements for rust. This process was done in our studio and involved rust converter, metal primer and finished coat with a metal black satin enamel. The main frame was treated in the same fashion on site. Article published in the Herald Newspaper | Ann Street Presbyterian ChurchRemoval of all the leadlight panels as well as steel frames. Restored steel frames and refit in place. Refit leadlight panels. At the request of the architect, Brisbane Leadlight Service had to retain ventilation throughout the church, hence the bottom sash was able to open on a wind out mechanism and have a separate protector from the rest of the window. Installing the protector on the opening sash was done with specially design brackets that allowed an open cavity between the glass and the leadlight panel to prevent any condensation. The rest of the window above the opening sash was covered with one protector. |
